How does a Christian, "work out their own salvation?" Is it by works, or acts, or 'doing something?' No! Paul said in Philippians chapter 2 that works are really the following:

  • a changed life
  • a continuing obedience
  • a fear and trembling (respect) for our God
  • and His continual presence in our life
This is a very important lesson for those of us who have a hard time understanding the workings of the salvation experience! Listen or watch below:

This week's message comes from chapter 2 of Philippians, verses 9-11, "The Joy that Comes from the Name of Jesus." What is in a name? Jesus' name carries many important values:

  • it is a highly exalted name: Jesus is our Redeemer."
  • It is an excellent name, with regal powers: Jesus is our King.
  • It is a bestowed name: given to him by his Father, God.
In response to this majestic name, we will bow down before Him. We will confess him as Lord. Watch or listen below and learn more about this amazing name!

The second part of Pastor Gene's message entitled, "The mind-set of a humble servant" teaches us that a mind-set of a servant:

  • is shared with Christ
  • is one of non-exploitation
  • is a mind that is changed - becoming empty of glory and riches that only have value here on earth.
Jesus desires that we glorify his Father, God giving him honor. You will want to watch or listen to this message!

Pastor Gene shares a message entitled, "The Joy of Proper Conduct in Jesus." Jesus directs us to live in "one spirit." As Christians, we are convicted by the Holy Spirit for the worldly attitude we take on every so often. We are prompted to repent and live in a code of conduct that pleases God. This is a great message that serves as a reminder of how to live for God.
