Salt and Light. Christians are called to be salt and light. We are to be a light on a hill. What do these things mean? Salt is a flavoring and a preservative. Our mission as a Christian is to be a preservative. We should work to keep our culture's morals from decaying.
Christians are called to be light. We shine God's light through our lives so that the darkness in others will be dispelled. Salvation comes to the unsaved through the light of truth, love and joy from within those of us who have experienced God's forgiveness and grace.
A city on a hill is always active. A city never sleeps. A city draws attention. Do we as believers actively pursue a life of serving others? Do we sleep instead of working until the King returns? Do we as followers of the Lord draw attention to the change He has made in our lives? We are called to draw people to Jesus. Let's pray that our lives are the salt and light of the world!

What makes this sermon radical? Back in Jesus' day, the ordinary people did not hear sermons like Jesus preached. What makes this sermon so radically challenging?
- God's expectations of you and I have not changed over time. The law is still the law.
- Our response has not changed. As the people in Jesus' time realized that no one could live a perfect life, so do we. So we just live a life that makes us feel good.
- God's reaction to our sin has not changed either. God hates sin. God will punish sin. God calls us to repent.
- Mom taught me to love the Lord and love being in His house.Psalm 92:13; 122:1
- Mom taught me how to love each of my own children for who they are. Psalm 139:14
- Mom taught me that there are boundaries I cannot cross and there are consequences for crossing them. Proverbs 13:24
- Mom taught me how to remain committed to my spouse for a lifetime. Mark 10:7-9
- Turn your emotions (anger and hate) over to God
- Personal communication is a MUST
- Problems cannot be allowed to fester
- Resolving conflicts is not a suggestion, it is God's command
- Matthew 5:21-26
- 1 John 2:3-5; 9-11
- Mark 11: 25-26
- 1 John 4: 20-21
- Luke 17: 3-4
- Let your prayer be simple
- Let your prayer be sincere
- Let your prayer be humble
- Let your prayer be honest
- Either we put ourselves on the throne of our life or we give our life to God to lead and direct our choices.
- We live to glorify ourselves or to glorify our God and Creator
- We seek material wealth for our own gain or we seek the heavenly rewards that only God gives to those who sacrifice their own desires
- We either follow our own sense of right and wrong or we follow God's Holy Word and live in His righteousness

Do you let issues build until you just can't seem to even look at the one with whom you are angry? Overcoming Temptation. Wouldn't it be great if there were easy ways to avoid making bad choices? Jesus shared a radical message concerning sin. He said that temptation begins in the heart. Jesus said that we see sin differently than the way God sees sin. Listen or watch below as Pastor Rob's sermon series, The World's Most Radical Sermon provides Jesus's view of overcoming temptation.

How many times have you heard the "Lord's Prayer"? Sometimes we recite it without really thinking about the meaning behind the message. Jesus didn't ask us to pray this prayer specifically; he just wanted us to use it as a model for our prayers. He wanted us to pray to our heavenly Dad, just as he prayed to his Dad. Here are a few directions for our prayers from this passage in Matthew chapter 6:

We continue in our sermon series, "The World's Most Radical Sermon." This week Pastor Rob shares the most important lesson that Jesus taught: No One can serve two masters. What happens when we as followers try to serve someone or something other than our Heavenly Father?

Don't worry,... be happy! Have you heard this expression from a song a few years ago? That's not quite what God tells us. God says, "Don't worry,... be Godly." As we continue in our sermon series, The World's Most Radical Sermon Pastor Rob teaches us that God wants us to totally rely on Him. When we give our lives to God, He will take care of all our needs.
